Celebrating One Year of Inked In Pages

one year_2.png

Holy moly can you believe I’ve been doing book reviews for a year?! It’s absolutely flown by, there’s no way it could possibly have been a full year and yet here we are!

I’ve met some great people and made some great friends – at least I hope we’re friends 😳 I can’t wait to see where this blog ends up in another year’s time.

First off I just want to thank every single one of you for following the blog, for reading my reviews and the other occasional posts that pop up. I’m incredibly grateful for each and every one of you and I’ve had so much fun with this blog (even when it gets to be a little stressful).

Some stats

I thought I’d share some statistics on all my blogging social media and that way we can look back in a year and see how much more Inked In Pages has grown! Maybe one day I can start an empire 🤔

  • WordPress – 225 followers
  • Tumblr – 631 followers
  • Instagram – 202 followers
  • Twitter – 157 followers

What’s changed?

Transitioning from Tumblr to WordPress

That’s right, Inked In Pages started over on good ol’ Tumblr a year ago. I chose Tumblr because it was the “blogging” platform that I was familiar with but I soon wanted to be on a more legitimate platform. After much deliberating, I eventually moved over here to WordPress in March. That makes this actual blog only 9 months old!

Names changes all over the place

When I first started on Tumblr, I was “Vivian Reads a Book” because originality am I right? After much tossing and turning, I settled on Inked In Pages and I couldn’t be happier. Fun fact, I spent a few days trying to deciding between Inked In Pages and Inked On Pages. I think we all know which choice one.

My reviews

Oh god my first few reviews were absolutely terrible! I hate that they exist but I also love looking back on them to see my progress and how I’ve developed as a reviewer. The biggest change in my review writing is definitely the length. My very first review (The Martian by Andy Weir) was just under 150 words 😱  how could I even think that was an okay review to put out into the world.

Different graphics EVERYWHERE

So here we have my old Review and TBReleased headers. Who remembers theses bad boys?reviewtbr

And here we have my current Review and TBReleased graphics which I adore.

Will Inked In Pages have a makeover in 2017? Who knows!

Q&A maybe?

I thought it’d be nice to do a Q&A so everyone can get to know me that much more, if anyone even has questions that is. Send me any and all questions and I’ll answer them! Questions about me, questions about books, even questions about space.

Giveaway

And now for everyone’s favourite part of a blogiversary, THE GIVEAWAY. I thought a giveaway would be a nice way to give back to my followers but it’d also be a great way to celebrate the holidays coming up! It’ll be like a Christmas present from me to the winner. It’s nothing huge because unfortunately I’m not in a place where I can be spending as much as I want to thank you all.

Wow, 1 year is amazing I’m so excited for you! Congratulations!
I can’t wait until our one year anniversary in January 🙂

In case you want to do a Q and A, here are my questions for you:
    1. What is the preferred age of a main character in books that you read?
    2. Why were you named Vivian?

Just thought they might be a bit of fun to know 🙂

What’s been your proudest blogging moment?

HAPPY BLOGIVERSARY, Vivian! 😀 Here’s to many more years of Inked In Pages, full of amazing reads and new bookworm friends! ♥

And as I love reading/watching Q&As, I have a couple of questions for you ^^
    – Was there a specific book that got you into reading?
    – If you could change any one thing about a plot or a storyline of a book, what would you choose?

PS: don’t feel bad about having short reviews or anything – don’t even think about deleting them! It’s actually really nice to look back at them and see how much you’ve grown. Every blogger starts somewhere ♥

Congratulations, Vivian!!! I’m pretty sure the blog will keep growing, and will have many more anniversaries! I wish you all the best!!!

My question for the Q&A is: if you could hang out with one character from a book for a whole day, which one would you choose? I’d love to know your answer!!
