Thank you so much to Lauren @ Wonderless Reviews for tagging me in this, it was really fun! Basically, what you do is find a book on your shelves that fits each of the prompts.
Find a book with the letter ‘Z’ in its title or the author’s name.
The Maze Runner by James Dashner.
I got the series a couple years ago and there’s nothing wrong with them but I much prefer the new covers that they released last year.
Find me a classic.
The Magic Pudding by Norman Lindsay.
This absolutely counts right? I mean, it even says ‘classic’ on the cover.
Find the oldest book on your shelves.
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis.
I’m not too sure whose book this is but I found it one day about 11 years ago now. I believe it was printed in 1980 so it’s both the oldest printed edition of a book I own and the book that I’ve had the longest.
Find a book with a key on its cover.
Nothing! I have zero books with a key on the cover.
Find something on your shelves that isn’t a book.
This is a candle from Ikea that I got about three years ago from a friend and it still smells amazing.
Find a book with an animal on the cover.
The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater.
I found the start of this really slow and it took me a good hundred pages or so to really get into it.
Find a book with a girl on its cover.
The Siren by Kiera Cass.
I’m still not over what a let down this was. As with all other Kiera Cass novels (*cough* The Selection series *cough*), the cover is gorgeous.
Find a non-YA book.
The Casual Vacancy by J.K. Rowling.
I might reread this sometime. It’s also one of the few hardbacks that I own.
Find a book with stars on its cover.
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling.
This was the first Harry Potter book I ever owned. I got it as a present for my 9th birthday I think? 9th or 10th. Funny story, my collection isn’t complete, I’m still missing Philospher’s Stone and Goblet of Fire but they don’t print this edition any more and I want the series to match.
Find a book with golden letters.
Rebel of the Sands by Alwyn Hamilton.
I got this in the February box of The YA Chronicles, a monthly YA book subscription box. I’d like to think that I would’ve picked it up eventually but if we’re being honest, I probably wouldn’t have. And that would’ve been such a shame because I absolutely loved it!

I’m pretty sure it’s my favourite of the series, I remember reading through it in one sitting when I was about 12!

That’s a lot to read all at once for a twelve-year-old! Can’t blame you, though; it’s a great book. =)

To be fair, I was at my dad’s restaurant because he didn’t want to leave me at home alone so I had nothing else to do for a good 5 or so hours.

Yeah, that’d do it!

Yay! I’m so happy you did this because your photos are gorgeous ♥
THE MAGIC PUDDING OH MY GOD! I’m having major childhood flashbacks. We have the same PoA edition too! And that candle sounds wonderful. I’m super impressed that it’s lasted 3 years, I go through my candles so quickly lmao.

I almost skipped the classics prompt because I don’t read any and as I was sitting in front of my shelves and then I remembered that I own the classic Aussie kids story.
It’s only lasted 3 years because I love it too much to light it very often. I’ve lit it maybe twice for an hour or two each time.

It’s definitely made me want to go back and reread some Australian kid classics. I actually think that’s the edition I had to, but who knows where it ended up after like the 10th time I moved houses haha.
Haha, that’s so understandable! I always wish I had done that when I go through my candles.

Thanks for the tag Vivian! I’ve got to say the only non book think in my shelves is a dead spider (which is very pleasantly discovered today while hunting for a book that I think I’ve lost) and I won’t be sharing a pic of that. Hahaha. And if it says classic on the cover it definitely counts. 😛

Hahaha I may have cheated a little and decided I’d start putting my candles on my bookshelves as I was doing the tag because otherwise there’s nothing but books on them!

I think I’ll put something on it now so I can show it off. ProTip. Lol.

I absolutely love the cover for Rebel of the Sands! I bought it a couple of weeks ago, and the gold accents are gorgeous.
Thank you so much for the tag!! I’ll get around to it after this semester is over! 🙂

The Rebel of the Sands looks ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS. Shame you didn’t enjoy the Siren! Its one of the options me and another awesome blogger are going to buddy-read, will be proceeding with caution 🙂

It had so much potential and for me it just didn’t live up to it. I have seen other people really like it though!
