BOOK REVIEW: Illuminae (The Illuminae Files #1) by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff

Illuminae is nothing like any other book I’ve ever read and I mean that literally. It is not at all a conventional book. The story is told through interviews, messages, military files and other documents. There are so many points of view so this book leaves it all up to the reader’s imagination. You won’t be able to put it down.

Despite being just under 600 pages, it was an incredibly easy read, taking me under a day and a half to get through because of the unique way in which it is written.

Kady and Ezra are clearly meant to be and you’ll be wishing for them to both make it through. The book opens with interviews of the two, providing a simplistic introduction to the lovers and creating interest, drawing you into a story you’ll wish won’t ever end.

Illuminae has a little bit of something for everyone—space opera, romance, comedy, zombies, hackers.
